Yakult original and Yakult LIGHT are made fresh in our manufacturing plant in Dandenong South, Victoria. Both products are gluten free and fat free. Yakult is also free from any artificial colours or preservatives.
The Lactobacillus casei Shirota (LcS) strain was first discovered by Dr Minoru Shirota, the founder of Yakult. Dr Shirota studied a variety of microorganisms including Lactobacilli, butyric acid bacteria, mould and yeast.
