From Microbes to Immunity: The Power of Microbiome-Derived Metabolites – Webinar Recap

On Friday, 27 June 2025, Yakult Australia had the pleasure of hosting an engaging webinar titled From Microbes to Immunity: The Power of Microbiome-Derived Metabolites.

This session featured Professor Ben Marsland, Deputy Head, School of Translational Medicine at Monash University, Co-Leader of the GIN (Gastroenterology, Immunology, and Neuroscience) Discovery Program and Editor-in-Chief of Mucosal Immunology. 

Professor Marsland shared his expertise on how microbiome-derived metabolites shape immune responses and influence inflammation. With 90% of chronic health conditions linked to the complex relationship between the gut and immune system, his research has never been more relevant. 

Attendees gained valuable insight into this emerging field and discovered how these findings are paving the way for personalised, microbiome-targeted treatments in management of chronic disease.
